Beta limitations

Known limitations of cloud workspaces during the beta

Cloud workspaces are ready for agent work, but a few parts still behave differently from local workspaces. Use this page to check what is expected and what to do next.

Info:

If something here blocks your work, tell us in Discord or choose Help → Send Feedback in Conductor. Include the workspace name, repository, and what you expected to happen.

Current limitations

Most cloud workspace behavior should feel familiar if you already use local Conductor workspaces. The differences below are the ones most likely to affect a setup script, terminal workflow, or long running agent task.

LimitWhat this meansWhat to do
GitHub repositoriesCloud workspaces clone from GitHub. Other Git hosts are not supported yet.Use a GitHub repository for cloud workspaces. Keep using local workspaces for other hosts.
Running workspace capYou can have up to 10 running cloud workspaces per account. Sleeping and archived workspaces do not count.Archive workspaces you are finished with. Wake only the workspaces you need right now.
Temporary connectivity gapsIf the cloud machine cannot be reached, cloud terminals become read only and file sync pauses. Your files and conversation stay in the cloud.Wait for the connection to recover. If the workspace still looks stuck, restart it from the cloud workspace panel.
File refresh delayDiffs and git panel updates can take a few seconds after agent edits. Terminal edits can take longer to appear.Give the panel a moment to refresh, or run git status in a cloud terminal when you need immediate confirmation.
Sleeping workspacesIdle cloud machines may go to sleep. Files and conversation state stay in the workspace.Use Wake a sleeping workspace when you return.
Codex goals in cloudThe /goal command and goal mode are not available in cloud workspaces yet.Use Codex goals in local workspaces, or use a regular cloud chat.

What to expect during the beta

The beta is also where we are learning which defaults, limits, and recovery paths need to be smoother. We will keep the docs current as those details change.
